Write a one-paragraph rhetorical analysis of an elections poster. This could be the poster that you discussed in class or a different political poster. This should be a P.I.E. paragraph. The paragraph should mention a rhetorical device that the poster uses (the Point of the paragraph), examples of this device (Illustrations), and why this is important (Explainations). Your paragraph should be similar to the Malcolm X paragraph that we read in class on Thursday. You can submit this paragraph on the blog, but please bring a copy to class, since we we will work on your paragraphs on Tuesday.
If you did not complete the vocubulary assignment due on Thursday, please do this for the next class. We will have a vocabulary quiz on Tuesday, based on the individual words that you learned last week. Reread the article that you read to prepare for the quiz.

My P.I.E paragraph is about political poster that I had in class.

Point
• In this political poster author uses “American Support” as a powerful rhetorical device that appeals to emotions and character (credibility)
Ilustration
• Photos with U.S President in charge give us a strong feeling about the credibility of that politician.
Explanation
• Since “American Support” is a very important issue, this political poster shows a lot.
• The main political debate in our elections is “Who has more influenced Americans in his back” and this is a strong repetition that brings votes.
• “George W.Bush” in that poster is a very strong pathos appeal, this makes the audience (target group) feel proud and comfortable with “American Support” and their “favorites” are in the “right path”.

P.I.E Paragraph
My P.I.E paragraph is about LDK political poster ( Në rrugë të drejtë –in the right way ,with the flags of USA,EU and Kosovo.
Point
The main point of this poster is that LDK also after president Rugova is dead is in the right way and related with our old friendship as USA and EU.
Illustration
The photo of President Rugova is giving the citizens the feeling that they are continuing his way.
The flags are trying to explain the good relationship with USA and EU.
Explanation
Dr.Rugova for most of the people it was known as o good person and leader too , and LDK are in his good steps too.
Relationships with USA and EU is something that for the people here appreciate to much and who have more support from the foreign states is stronger than the others.
Rhetorical Analysis Paragraph(P.I.E) of Mrs.Besa Halimi Zagragja
P-1.Her constant reference to the people of Kosovo,especially albanians to gather their votes to believe in her capacity to lead.
I-2.She uses the term” believe in Besa”
I-3.She also uses the prestige of her party ”PDK”
E-4.By saying “believe in Besa” she tries to collect “again” their ability to believe in someone that will represent their wishes.
E-5.The name Besa is not used only to provide her ability to lead but the trust that is given by her own leaders like a delegate of them.
E-6.The prestige of her party is connected with the term “be proud” show us that they did something that we should proud with that.
E-7.Paralelly with that is the idea of creating a new identity for the people and the state.
E-8.With the term “proud with us” she and her party uses the failed of ex. leading party to represent the people desires.
E-9.Directlly attacks people emotions when they say “we will walk together” ‘cause of that they gone be a “back up” for the people.
E-10.Creating a new desire to change, develop to people other thoughts that PDK has leaders that should be voted like Besa in this case.

(P) In its advertisements LDK tries to persuade the electorate through a very strong ethos and mythos strategy.
(I) In its posters LDK uses a large variety of ethos elements which are supposed to affect the emotional reaction of people. The '89 number, the red and black colors, the straight arrow directed to the top of the poster, the key with the flags, all come together to serve the same idea: touch people more closely, touch people more emotionally.
(I) LDK has been running a strategy that seems very concentrated to put the mythical figure of Ibrahim Rugova in the limelight of the campaign. Commented widely as "running in the elections with a dead one", the strategy has been officially declared by LDK as a very legitimate way to tell people who are Rugova's true predecessors.
(E) The ethos elements used by LDK were well thought. '89- "the magic number" symbolizes many things, playing multidimensional roles at the same time. People, who have been born on 1989, have turned 18 this year, so these are their first elections. LDK is trying to tell with this element that youth belongs to us, youth has come with us. Another fact is that '89 has been the year when LDK was founded as a political organization. Being created in 1989 means you have a tradition of 18 years activity. And knowing that those 18 years have had high importance on the newest history of our country leads people to the conclusion that LDK has been with them, leading them…
And then last but not least, the coincidence is lucky for LDK since their number in the electoral lists happened to be exactly 89.
(E) President Ibrahim Rugova has been considered by lots of people as the most significant Albanian politician in the last two decades. A person widely adored, admired and supported, he has been a real phenomenon. Its authority and its charisma made him kind of a myth. And now using his figure is using mythos as a strategy. People, who have supported and voted him regularly, now after his death, would of course like to vote his true predecessors. And LDK is trying to put him on the limelight in order to convince people that LDK is following his steps.
(E) People are human beings. They can be easily affected if you shoot right on the point. So mythos and ethos can be irresistible when used correctly. So, LDK has made this decision just because of this fact.
Coming up with the figure of Rugova in every picture, in every poster, is nothing but pressing, influencing and manifesting suggestion to the electorate. Though it was helpless this time…
P.I.E Paragraph
My P.I.E paragraph is about political Party LDD which we discussed in class.
Point:
In LDD's poster author uses words as Prosperity,Peace and Independence.
Because according to them they realise what they promise.

He uses albanian flag as a national identity.He also makes an advertisement to his personality.
European Union's poster and American flag are part of this poster.He uses European flag to tell us that we are an inseparable part of Europe.And he uses American flag to tell us that America is our ally and we are supported by them.
Explanation:
After ex president Ibrahim Rugova died the LDK was separated.Mr Nexhat Daci was part of it and he used to lead the parliament.
ALso this party was separated because of the politic's faction.
One year ago he formed a new Political Party called LDD.
Their aim is independence,integration to EU and NATO and keeping good relation with powerful states.
The author appeals through very strong mythos and ethos.

Here is my rhetorical analysis about LDD political poster or their political advertise !
1. Point
In this politic advertise his leader and LDD are trying to convince audience to vote for them, they are using some mythos, ethos and also a bit logos.
2. Illustration
In this poster LDD party is using mythos by flags starting with American flag, through this is trying to illustrate relationship with America, that America will support us as usual.
Up next is Albanian flag who illustrate our national identity also a long history of our country, people, moreover our history.
Afterward is EU flag which is illustrating relationship of this party with strong and powerful states in Europe, and is illustrating our cooperate with Europe.
However there is his own political party flag, LDD flag who illustrate that they put them selves in order with strong countries.
However they are trying to illustrate that their leader is strong character, credibility and confidence.
3. Explanation
The author of these poster was very careful using these elements flags, their strong leader and their motto. We all know that our huge support comes from America and some Europe states and they are using these to get the votes, I think that the author is trying to explain us why you we must vote for LDD.
So the author knows well how to penetrate to audience emotions, it seems that he know well our history and his idea is well working. He uses mythos by flags, ethos and logos by their leader and their motto !!!
However these advertise, their promises, and their before elections campaign helped them so much because as new political party they won 10% of the voters and now with a coalition they could have a strong importance in our Assembly….

Everyone: I thought I would respond to the group, since there are a lot of similarities in this assignment. You have all noticed a lot in these posters and have a good start on your paragraphs.
The next step is to take your Paragraph OUTLINES and make them into well-developed paragraphs that include introduction sentences (a description of the poster), transitions, and endings (endings should answer the question, why do your ideas matter?)

How about developing your POINT into more of an arguement? What is the poster persuading the electorate to think? Is the poster sucessful?
In its advertisements LDK tries to persuade the electorate through a very strong ethos and mythos strategy.

Flags rarely appeal to logos. They are usually mythos and pathos.
Your paragraph focuses almost entirely on the flags, but then you mention how these flags help the credibility of the leader:
