"Homework due on Thursday, 22 November"
Dear citizens of Gjilan, first of all I want to thank you for your massive participation in our political party event especially our before elections campaign, this is a huge support for us and I am sure that with your confidence and your vote you will replace us from minority government party to a majority government party (winners of these elections).

If you give us your vote you will give us right to represent you in Kosovo's Assembly and we guarantee that we will work for better future and we will not abuse with your collective (public) goods !!!

If we don't keep our promises you have right to judge us and you can ask for our resignation.
In the end I beg you to think rationally about who you are going to vote because these elections are very important for Kosovo in this period, so please don't give your vote to another parties or candidates who will impose their ideology using coercion.
So vote for us because we are the best, and we are going to represent you worthily in Kosovo's Assembly we are going to accomplish your political goal for better Kosovo…
VOTE FOR US !!! You will not regret...
Donika Emini
Citizens of Kosovo,
People of this great country,
Distinguished compatriots of mine,
Let me congratulate you all before I call you ‘dear’ and before I do the courtesy part of this speech.
You have manifested today a historical event for all of us, for our country and for the future of our children.
Kosovo has shown the world today the highest values of democracy, peace and culture. And once more we gave the unprecedented example of elections in the region.
You have all served your country today with your adorable attitude, but furthermore you have served peace, and that’s and achievement. Our peace today may be fragile, but still it is ‘a peace’. Yesterday, it was something we could only dream about.
Kosovo has voted today and its citizens have made clear that they are the sovereign.
The number of people who have gone to the polls today might have not been the number we wanted to be. But that’s not only something to worry about. That is something to work hard at. It’s time for intervention.
You gave politics a lesson today and you gave me a lesson too. You told us you can punish, and you made us clear your confidence is hard to win and when won it has to be respected.
When staying home today instead of going to the voting centers, you have initiated the change. And let me proclaim that this change has started. Next time you will be given e strong reason to go the polls. And I promise this with full awareness.
To those who have not voted because of being tired, frustrated and not feeling able to have political access in their own country I send this message today: the new government of Kosovo has set a top-priority-challenge and that is gaining your trust again.
To those who have not voted because of being told so from a third subject I send a message too: Kosovo is the soil of everybody who wants to be sovereign within its sovereignty. Let Kosovo be yours as well. Please do think for your life and prosperity before of anything else. I ask you all to, please, start listening to your thoughts. And if your thoughts are happiness, peace, tolerance and prosperity than let us all join together in this mission. In a mission where equality rights would be delivered equally, in a mission where tolerance would rule the life, in a mission where we would find our selves fulfilled.
The new government that you legitimated in these elections is not just honored to have gained your vote but it is more than ever strongly obligated to serve your will.
We have a major process to lead. History will judge us tomorrow. And we have to give the last atom of our capacity to act smartly.
I congratulate and thank each and one of my political opponents for their fair and democratic attitude during these elections. And I remind you and them that in this process everybody is an ally, there’s no place for opponents. That is why this government will be happy enough to let everybody know that leading Kosovo is not up to one party. Even if that party is the winner. It is up to everyone who wants to help this country towards its brighter future.
First and most important the independence of Kosovo and then the economical development, peace, tolerance, equality, general welfare, prosperity, rule of law, security and integrations are our most precious collective goods. If so than let’s work collectively to achieve them!
Cheers!
Flandër Syla
Dear people
Together we came here, together we will walk forward.
You had confidence on me when I start the campaign and now we will give to you all collective public goods that I all promise you before to give. This victory is not only to lead the state but there is going to have equality rights, intervention when is need to do it, even that we are in a security dilemma with Serbia we will resolve this kind of situation. We will take initiative to busted every person who tries to escape from law responsibility. There will be no more coercion to displeasure the people wishes or better saying your wishes. So are you to create a new identity for this state and this nation.

Dear citizens
We have had to escape from many traps, initiative to put us down. We now that we should work like consent of the governed cause the legislative leading required us to do that. You should have also confidence on your self and than I will have more confidence in my self too, to be stronger to lead you. Every intervention will be by informing you first like the majority of the state and than to give orders. There will be no proclamation like videos, photos, newspaper paragraphs that will damage our image. Also I will notice them that our case is not precedent case and will resolved like any case. Something else that I would like to say is that I also wanted that the minority to have their own government to have the possibility to represent their self. In any case if there is going to be or to have other security dilemmas we will try to resolve it and this kind of dilemmas will be not cause of minorities because they will have the equality rights and collective public goods like us. So there is nothing else to be saying I think, and what is going to happen it will be proved during this leading.

Granit: i liked your speech, especially the part about the plaques that will be placed in public buildings. this is what Fushe-Kosova needs!
I noticed two grammar problems in your speech: articles and prepositions. Can you identify and fix these errors?
Donika: A rousing speech with very specific and clear promises. i would vote for you!
I noticed two problems in your speech.
1) You could break some of your long sentences into shorter sentences:
I want to thank you for your massive participation in our political party event especially our before elections campaign, [NEW SENTENCE HERE] this is a huge support for us and I am sure that with your confidence and your vote you will replace us from minority government party to a majority government party
2) Articles! Can you identify and fix the errors in these sentences?
If you give us your vote you will give us right to represent you in Kosovo's Assembly and we guarantee that we will work for better future
We will create a special (ad hoc) committees to control and investigate every abuse in government,
If we don't keep our promises you have right to judge us and you can ask for our resignation.
Flander:
A very well written speech. You have a very clear audience (people who didn't vote - Albanians and Serbs) and you try to bring people together under the banner or peace and prospertity that can only be acheived through activily engaging in civic life. Nice.
Liridon:
this is a good start. to develop this further, you would remind us of your promises and explain how you plan to deal with the Serbian situation. you meentioned intervention. what exactly does this mean?
Can you rewrite this sentence so that it is more clear?
This victory is not only to lead the state but there is going to have equality rights, intervention when is need to do it, even that we are in a security dilemma with Serbia we will resolve this kind of situation.
Medison: The first part of your speech is the strongest, I think. You mention the importance of consent of the voters, and how that leads to confidence.
I’m confused about these two sentences: What exactly do you mean?
There will be no proclamation like videos, photos, newspaper paragraphs that will damage our image.
Also I will notice them that our case is not precedent case and will resolved like any case
Muhamet:
I am flexible about the final and I like your well-reasoned suggestion. What's important is that the final - whatever it is - is useful and practical.
Let me think some more about whether we should have a (smaller) traditional final AND a presententation. Or whether we should discard the tradiational fianl for a presentation. I'll get back to you (and the class) after you turn in your collage project.
People of Kosova,
Democratic patriots,
Congratulation!
Today is a celebrity day, for you, for Kosova, for democracy –for the truth.
Let me thank you, first of all, for putting your confidence in us and for rising up hopes for this country.
We are feeling honored from your acts and responsible for fulfilling your requests and dreams.
Today we have demonstrated to anyone of what we are able for. We have shown that we are willing to be part of the democratic and European family by cultivating democratic actions and by punishing injustice and bad-governing.
Duty, Honor, Country: These three hallowed words reverently dictate what we ought to be, what we can be, and what we will be. They are our rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.
As our habitants and as our last heroes did, we will in any cost defend our country and we are going to do it with honor.
In order to do this we will from this moment began to construct our state. We will do so even though some countries would reject it, even though enemies will cross our way.
We all know what we want; we all know what we need and what’s best for us. We don’t need others to do that for us, because we are they rulers of ourselves, because we live here and it’s here where we belong.
This day is a beginning of a new journey. It’s a journey toward a better future, not only for us but also for new generations that will come soon.
Folks, there’s still a long arrow way we are going to pass through, but united we will make it.
In order to reach this, we are going to need you corporation and support. I know that the coming days wouldn’t be easier for you but together we will pass through this tough period.
As you already know my party and have build up a strategic plan of the development of Kosova.
During our mandate we’d focus on:
- Appling institutional, administrative, financial and fiscal reforms by reforming public institutions (government; hospitals, schools, university, public corporations, public administration, water supply companies etc.)
- Economic development- by creating a good business climate in order to simulate National Investment and Foreign Direct Investment. On the focus of attention would be the further development of private sector with the emphasis on the agricultural sector.
- Building up special committees for Diaspora- in order to represent their interests and make their investments in Kosova be profitable, both for them and people of this country.
- Creating special independent committees that would, all the time, monitor the work the government is doing, and make these reports public to you.
Applying all these changes would take time, but for a functional state, it’s worth it.
Dear folks, I welcome you to this new mission of ours. This mission is dedicated to all those who fought for it, to those who for the same reason are not here with us. It’s also for the men and women who gave their contribution in creating such beautiful and compassionate people as you are, and this is also a mission of truth, freedom, democracy and prosperity, the results of which would be passed by to our children.
People of Kosova, the time has now has now come. You have made this moment to come and we won’t let you down!
Asren,
I like your sppech. It has repetition (which is good for speeches), groups of three, and an appeal to patriotism and a bright future.
