Complete the activity on the back side of the handout that I gave you today in class: Identifying Topics with a Clear Focus.
Next, think of a subject for you presentation. Complete (and write out) steps A, B, and C from the class handout as a way to narrow your subject down into a manageable topic.
Bring your work to class next Thursday, since we will discuss it in class.
Work on revising your essay.
One other thing: After doing some math, I realize that it will be difficult to have only two days of presentations. I am therefor looking for 3 or 4 volunteers to give their presentations on Thursday, 10 January. Presenting early has a number of benefits: 1) you can get it over with 2) your presentation can serve as a model to help other students improve their presentations 3) since you are doing everyone a favor by going early, you will be graded slightly more generously.
